The Landsberger call shared taxi is to be extended to the Lechrain in September.

Because now the municipalities of Denklingen, Rott, Reichling, Apfeldorf and Kinsau are also taking part in the offer.

Lechrain

- The district office of Landsberg recently submitted drafts for four lines for the call shared taxi to be extended to the southern district of Landsberg.

So far, Asch and Leeder (line 11) as well as Seestall, Römerkessel, Lechmühlen and Hohenwart (line 22) have been the last stops heading south.

In the future, Denklinger and Dienhauser will also benefit from this offer.

Epfach can be served because the route continues south to Kinsau and Apfeldorf.

From Landsberg to Denklingen a passenger has to pay seven euros.

It costs the same to Epfach.

It is seven euros to Dienhausen and to Kinsau.

In groups, the second person, for example to Fuchstal, pays 2.50 euros.

A third and fourth guest can board free of charge – as can children up to six years of age and the severely disabled.

Passengers, municipalities and the district share the costs

In nine out of ten cases, a Denklinger or Dienhauser is brought to Landsberg in a shared taxi on the B 17 or vice versa.

If someone from Unterdiessen or Leederer wants to get on at the same time, then the route leads through the villages to the south, explains Florian Köhler from the Landsberg district office.

The service provider, Taxi Thoma from Kaufering, actually charges at least 40 euros between Denklingen and Landsberg.

The remainder for the user's own contribution (seven euros) is shared by the municipality and the district.

The costs for the call shared taxi (AST) depend heavily on the use of the offer.

The AST has been in Fuchstal for several years.

It is quite regularly frequented, says Mayor Erwin Karg.

Asch and Leeder have 30 to 40 trips a month as a starting point or as a destination, says Florian Köhler, who is responsible for local public transport at the Landsberg district office.

Orientation rather in the south towards Schongau

It is difficult to predict whether the AST will also find acceptance further south.

Because the greater distance to Landsberg, but also the stronger orientation towards the south in the Schongau area, in contrast to Fuchstal, are criteria that play a role.

The AST with a fixed timetable and stops is ordered at least half an hour before the start of the journey.

Experience has shown that it is regularly used in the Landsberg district on weekday mornings or late evenings.

Occasionally, employees even use it to drive to work when there is no bus service to remote locations in the morning.

It is typical for someone to call the AST if they want to go home from Landsberg on a Saturday evening, for example.

In April 2023, the AST in the district of Landsberg will be put out to tender again.

This is probably happening across Europe because by then the annual performance – in 2021 it was 140,000 euros to the taxi company – had reached or even exceeded the threshold for the award.

The AST is an addition to the bus lines.

This should enable an hourly service for individual needs without a large empty bus or with few passengers being used on a line.
