In the hall of an Irschenberger towing company, a car started to burn on Thursday morning.
A walker noticed this and was able to prevent worse.
Irschenberg – As the police announced, the walker was out and about in the Wendling district around 8 a.m.
That's when he saw smoke coming out of the local tow truck operator's shed.
He immediately informed the owner of the hall.
With the help of his family members, he managed to open the gate to Halle - although the smoke was so thick that you couldn't see anything.
With combined forces and a working tool, they pulled a seat that had been parked in the hall out onto the forecourt.
It belongs to a 58-year-old woman from Rosenheim and was brought into the hall the night before after a car accident.
It is still unclear why the seat caught fire in the hall.
The fire brigades Irschenberg, Miesbach and Dettendorf were alerted.
The flames were extinguished by the forces of the Irschenberger Wehr.
The police estimate the car damage at around 10,000 euros.
The hall suffered damage of around 5,000 euros.
The concrete floor was slightly damaged.
The other vehicles in the hall and the inventory are covered with soot.
According to the police, it is thanks to the attentive passers-by that damage in the millions did not occur.
In the hall, which is attached to other buildings, there were crane and towing vehicles.
