The Alut Association today (Thursday) wrote a scathing letter to the secretary general of the Teachers 'Union, Yaffa Ben David, requesting that the special education system be excluded from the planned strike in the education system on Monday next week in order to raise teachers' salaries.

They said the decision to include special education in the protest was hurting the weakest population in the education system and sought to “abolish it immediately”.

In a letter sent to Ben-David, members of the association expressed support for the struggle to strengthen the status of teachers and improve their employment conditions, but on the other hand called the decision to include special education in the strike as "disproportionate and scandalous."

According to them, for decades the special education system was excluded from the Saturdays of the teaching staff, and this was the way it should have been this time as well.

"The use of special education children, who constitute the most vulnerable population in the education system, should not come up in any struggle or controversy, justified as it may be," they said.

"This decision hurts first and foremost the soft underbelly of the student population, and it is the children of special education and their families."

It was also reported that the protest could be expressed in other ways - without harming the children of special education.

"Therefore, despite our identification with the protest, its reasons and goals, and our standing to the right of the educational staffs - we believe that this decision is better because it would not have been made and should be revoked immediately," they said.

According to Alut, the national parents' leadership also joined in, rejoicing at the decision to include special education in the strike. "Injury to special education children is not acceptable for any struggle, no matter how justified," they said.

They are unable to cope with changes and need their regular routine and sequence.

"Disruption of this routine can lead to regressions, outbursts and other difficulties, which further thought can prevent."

"It must be repealed immediately."

Members of the Teachers 'Union will demonstrate next Monday in Tel Aviv to raise teachers' salaries, and will stop classes that day at 1:00 PM in all educational settings, including special education.

The demonstration will be held in the Tel Aviv Museum plaza that evening, under the title "Teachers, kindergarten teachers and principals say enough for a meager salary!".

"Many teaching staff have already left the system and many more intend to do so at the end of this year. Let's shout out loud: Enough of the destruction of the education system! Enough of harming the teaching staff!" , And accused that the conduct of the treasury vis-à-vis the teachers has "shocking" consequences, as she puts it.

According to Ben-David, the situation is expected to "severely shortage of teaching staff, which in practice will lead to severe disruptions in the operation of the education system and will mainly affect students, who will suffer from frequent turnover of kindergarten teachers, principals and principals."

She warned that the damage to the system would be "fatal".
