The appearance of Gerhard Polt and the Well brothers in Freising had to be postponed for two years.

But now the artists brought the Luitpoldhalle to a boil.

Freising

– An analysis by Gerhard Polt, which carried the packed Luitpoldhalle to one of many interim applause last Tuesday, was short and sweet: “People are good in and of themselves – only suffering is a problem”.

After the evening had been repeatedly postponed for two years, Polt finally made a guest appearance with the Well brothers in the cathedral city.

Not in the Uferlos tent as originally planned, but in the hall in front of around 800 spectators.

The FT used the program break to talk to Polt and the Well brothers about actor Karl Obermayr and folk singer Roider Jackl - two Freisingers who played an important role in their lives.

"If I say something to Karl now, it's always insufficient - because afterwards you always think of more," said Polt behind the stage when asked what connects him with Karl Obermayr.

"We were just on the same wavelength," said Polt.

And it was also felt that the Freising actor played an important role in his life.

Polt brought him onto the stage for the play “Kehraus” at the Munich Kammerspiele in the late 1970s, as well as for the film adaptation of the same name.

Polt falls silent when he remembers the last time they played "Die Exoten" together in 1985, the year Obermayr died.

"Yes, yes, we were friends, you can say that," says Polt.

By the way: Everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.

Michael Well also remembers the unfortunate year very clearly: “It was a shock for all of us when we heard that.

We also played with the Biermösl Blosn at his funeral".

“Karl was the king of the breaks, he always knew when what would have an effect – there are no longer such actors,” Polt recalled.

Because Obermayr learned a "completely normal" job, according to Polt, he simply knew the people with all the "deficits".

"He was a character actor, mostly because he just had a character," Polt said.

For the Biermösl Blosn, on the other hand, the Gstanzl rebel Roider Jackl was a formative role model.

According to Stoffer Well, they learned the following from the Roider: Before the concert, they find out from the people what's going on in the community and then incorporate that into the pieces.

"He just didn't give a shit - and that at a time when there was only the CSU," said Stoffer quickly before it went back on stage for the second part.

And there the Well brothers bowed charmingly to the Freising model with their own Gstanzl, because, among other things, the self-proclaimed folk singer Andreas Gabalier got his fat with the prognosis: “Kraudn Sepp turns around Grab!” – as well the flood of construction sites in the cathedral city, which can only be measured with an "infinity".

The Well brothers continue to work on the well-known topics that unfortunately never get old: environmental exploitation, club cheating and the abysses of the Catholic Church, to name just a few.

In between, Polt shone with his gems of human abysses, his almost Valentine-like sketches, which only Polt can do, loosely based on the philosophical motto: "If a non-swimmer drowns, then that's only one thing: consistent".

Certainly a highlight: Polt's perspective on the Tyroleans, from whom victims of ski accidents are snatched away by helicopter and flown to Amsterdam.

Thunderous applause, bowing and the well-known bouncer "Mambele" - this is how the most beautiful event of the year ended.
