In the obituary, ex-mayor Josef Lechner remembers the "pragmatist".

Fischbachau – The municipal council faced a dilemma.

Should the materials store in the new building yard be filled using an elevator or a forklift?

Heinrich Isenmann (CSU) declined.

It would be better to build a tennenbrücke.

His suggestion went through.

"That's how it was," says ex-mayor Josef Lechner.

"Typical Heini, a pragmatist."

Isenmann was a member of the municipal council and building committee for 26 years

After 26 years in the municipal council and building committee, the committee must now do without its ideas.

There were white roses on Isenmann's chair in the meeting room last Monday.

The day before, Fischbachauer had died after a serious illness at the age of just 57.

He leaves a big gap - in his family, in local politics and in his civil engineering company.

He was able to place the latter, his life's work, in good hands before he ran out of strength.

"Heinrich noticed that his junior did an excellent job of taking over the company," says Lechner.

"Before he left the ship," he was also able to get to know his two grandchildren.

Isenmann spent a last vacation together with his family in South Tyrol.

And the Fischbachauer didn't want to let go of politics either.

Lechner, who was friends with Isenmann, remembers a conversation about the Leitzach Bridge just a few weeks ago.

Commitment in clubs - loss of a good friend

Fischbachau's Mayor Stefan Deingruber said on Monday in the municipal council: "Anyone who knew Heini knows that he was a straightforward person with whom you knew what you were dealing with.

He always had an open ear and was always a competent contact person who contributed his expertise to construction projects.

We are also losing a good friend with Heini.”

As a horse rider, Isenmann was active with the Leitzachtal Horse Friends and as a musician for decades with the Elbach brass band.

He had expanded his parents' company from a garage business.

"He was a great employer with a social streak," says Lechner.

"His job was his vocation." Now that the company is in good hands, he has been able to let go.

The hard fought last few weeks have paid off.
