Construction work on an elevator in the Cave of the Patriarchs began tonight (Wednesday to Thursday) in the shadow of threats from the Hamas terrorist organization, which said that as long as the elevator was built, it would have serious consequences.
Late at night, trucks arrived, on which the special bridge and the elevator shaft lay, for access to the Cave of the Patriarchs.
After the bridge and shaft were unloaded, construction began which was completed in the early morning hours so that no one could prevent construction on the site.

In the coming days, the electrical work and the elevator train in the shaft, as well as the design of the bridge, will be completed.
As mentioned, in recent days Hamas has threatened that as long as the elevator is built, this will have serious consequences, but in practice, there are currently no riots at the site.
Shai Glick, CEO of B'Tselem, said: "Everyone has human rights everywhere.
Until now, people with disabilities have been expelled from the Cave of the Patriarchs and their right to freedom of religion and worship as well as freedom of movement has been humanly violated.
We will continue to lead the struggle for the human rights of all Israeli citizens anywhere and at any time without any discrimination. "
