The Degerndorf kindergarten celebrates its 30th anniversary with a hearty May Festival.

In addition to games and delicacies, there was also a bit of farewell pain.

Degerndorf – The municipal Heinrich Obermeier kindergarten in Degerndorf celebrated its 30th anniversary over the weekend.

The milestone birthday was combined with a hearty May Day festival.

The garden was lovingly decorated in white and blue, and a small maypole was erected.

Numerous guests congratulated: Parents and relatives, the Degerndorf brass band, the children's group of the traditional costume association Seeröserl, Mayor Michael Grasl, municipal treasurer Hubert Kühn and some municipal councillors.

Children and employees had appeared in costume.

Christina Bock, who was the manager from the very beginning, was warmly welcomed by her successor Marion Ulbrich, who pointed out that she had taken over a real "treasure chest" 16 years ago.

Marion Ulbrich will be succeeded by Birgit Koschnik as the new director in the fall.

She has been working as a group leader in Degerndorf since 2013.

With a bit of melancholy, gratitude and joy at the same time, Ulbrich said that this was her last big kindergarten party.

Münsing's Mayor Grasl praises educators: "Like a treasure"

"There is no treasure chest without treasures.

And our staff is like a treasure”, Mayor Grasl began his welcome and focused on the team of educators and nannies.

Vroni Hacker from the parents' association and Marion Ulbrich distributed specially made gingerbread hearts for many hard-working helpers.

The celebration ended with games, singing, brass band music and culinary delicacies in the afternoon.
