The pilot of a two-seater plane was killed and his passenger seriously injured when their plane crashed Thursday near Guéret, in the Creuse, we learned from the firefighters.

The ULM crashed in a field near Saint-Laurent aerodrome late Thursday afternoon, 6 km east of Guéret, after a failed take-off attempt, said the mayor of Saint-Laurent Alain Clédière to an AFP correspondent.

The pilot, a 26-year-old man, was dead when firefighters arrived.
His 20-year-old passenger was transported in a state of absolute emergency to the Limoges University Hospital.
