Opinion | There is no reason not to march in our capital freely and proudly Israel today

Do London, Paris or Madrid get prior approval from Washington for processions, parades or celebrations?

Someone must stop the madness.

As in any other capital in the world, many marches are held in Jerusalem.

The flag dance is one of the oldest and most beautiful.

Tens of thousands of members of religious Zionism, usually wearing white shirts, walk the main streets of the Eternal City, where generations of Jews have prayed.

There is nothing wrong with that, quite the opposite.

The only ones who are bothered by this are the last remnants of the Arab nation, who still dream of erasing the Jewish state.

Most of them live in the Land of Israel and refuse to come to terms with the state that controls it.

To you they describe a beautiful procession, which is about people loving their country and capital, as a provocative provocation.

Unfortunately, too many Israelis fall into this trap.

Instead of rejecting outright, rhetorically and practically, the threats of violence, they are considerate and even willing to surrender.

Not even that, the political echelon is for some reason discussing with foreign countries the considerations of whether a parade will take place and in what route.

This is not acceptable.

Does it make sense to you that a state would ask permission from its neighbors if it held a parade in its capital?

Are Jordan, Egypt or Qatar updating Israel on mass events in their territory?

Do London, Paris or Madrid get prior approval from Washington for processions, parades or celebrations?

The place we got to when it comes to the parade of flags is simply hallucinatory.

Nor is it profitable.

Last year, Prime Minister Netanyahu recoiled from Hamas threats and stated that the march would not pass through the Nablus gate.

But two hours later we still suffered a missile attack on Jerusalem.

That is, it once again became clear that surrendering to terrorism achieved the opposite goal.

So it's time to put some sanity into the chaos.

No foreign entity, terrorist or legitimate, has the right to interfere in what is happening in the capital of Israel.

It is not possible that threats of violence will determine for us where to go in our country.

We have the full right to move safely anywhere in Jerusalem, including the Nablus Gate.

This tough approach is the only way to start returning the demon of widespread violence to the bottle.

There is a direct connection between the diversion of the parade from the Nablus Gate, from the terror of terrorism, and the attacks against the medical staff in the hospitals.

In both cases, the State of Israel conveys the message that it is afraid of violence.

Well, the 55th birthday of the unification of Jerusalem and our return to the saints in the places, is a great timing to mention that we are still here.

The paratroopers entered the Old City from the Lions Gate.

Their sons and grandsons will follow in their footsteps and continue the historic movement of Israeli communism, all over Jerusalem.

Were we wrong?

Fixed!
