With the departure of "Regens Wagner", the Hubertusstuben in Rottenbuch is once again empty.

The council wants a host.

But the hope is not too great.

Rottenbuch

– The Bräuhaus is open again.

Schoolchildren populate the historic building in the middle of Rottenbuch every day.

At the same time, peace descended on the Hubertusstuben.

Because the rooms of the former gastronomy had been used by "Regens Wagner" since 2016, including his canteen kitchen.

But now the parlor is empty again - and the question came up in the municipal council: what now?

The committee would like to have a host for the gastronomy in the community hall again, reports Mayor Markus Bader.

"We're ready," he says.

"But we are also realistic that it will be difficult." The municipal council does not want to start the big advertising offensive, but the notice that a tenant is being sought should be published on the Internet, for example.

Bader admits that the municipality would prefer an innkeeper who offers Bavarian cuisine.

"That's what we're missing in Rottenbuch," says the head of the town hall.

"The guest who comes to us would also like to eat Bavarian food." But other concepts would also be conceivable.

For example, the rooms could also be of interest to a caterer.

“The kitchen is really, really well equipped.”

Lately no luck with the lease

Bader estimates that there is room for around 100 guests in the guest rooms.

There used to be a lot of life here.

"The Hubertusstuben went very, very well for decades," remembers Bader.

In the 1970s, Elisabeth Stadler took over the restaurant with her husband Peter.

When he died, the landlady went on alone - until her unexpected death in 2008. After that, difficult years began on Franz-von-Heeren-Straße.

Stadler's successor, an Oberammergauer, started in 2009 and gave up again in 2011 - the gastronomy in the community hall was too unprofitable.

The following landlord was kicked out by the municipality in March 2012 because he had not paid the rent.

In 2013, a Böbinger took over, but he had to stop in 2015 for personal reasons.

The search for a successor came to a halt, but then a user was found in "Regens Wagner".

But even then it was clear that it was not a long-term solution.

And so the Hubertusstuben is now empty again.

Bader hopes that a suitable applicant with a suitable concept will be found.

"We would love to rent again."
