Secretary of the Russian National Security Council Nikolai Patrushev and Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran Ali Shamkhani stressed the importance of strengthening bilateral cooperation between the two countries in the field of security.
During their talks in the Tajik capital Dushanbe today, Patrushev and Shamkhani indicated that a large number of challenges and dangers in the current geopolitical situation in the world are presented to Russia and Iran, which requires more coordination and cooperation between them in various fields.
The two sides discussed all issues of bilateral cooperation between institutions and bodies for maintaining order and prospects for consolidating economic and trade relations. They also discussed in detail international issues.
Patrushev and Shamkhani had arrived in Tajikistan earlier to participate in multilateral consultations on Afghanistan.
