The Secretary of the Russian Permanent Mission to the United Nations Fyodor Strizhovsky announced that the Secretary-General of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development Rebecca Greenspan will visit Moscow to discuss the export of fertilizers.
"The Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations, Martin Griffiths, is also scheduled to visit Moscow next June to discuss the full range of humanitarian assistance issues in Ukraine," Strezhovsky said in a statement yesterday.
United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres had called for full access to global markets for Russian food and fertilizer, noting that the United Nations was working on an agreement to remove restrictions on the export of products from Russia and Ukraine.
In turn, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov affirmed his country's continued fulfillment of its commitments to export food and fertilizers to Africa, some of whose countries depend to a critical degree on food supplies from Russia.
During his meeting with the ambassadors of African countries in Moscow on the occasion of Africa Day, Lavrov demanded that those countries demand the West to abolish sanctions imposed on Russia in order to implement Russian-African contracts.
