Several schools have closed in the Canadian city of Toronto after it was reported that a person had been shot in front of an elementary school in the Port Union area of the city.
"An officer shot a suspected man with a rifle in the street, wounding him," the local Toronto TV channel quoted a police source as saying.
The Toronto County Board of Directors has announced that Joseph Howe Public High School and Oliver Moat Collegiate Institute are currently closed, while the closure has been lifted for William J. Davis Elementary School.
The police launched an investigation to find out the circumstances of the shooting.
