Michael Lindmair has been vegan for a month.
In an interview with our newspaper, he explains how this experiment went.
Bad Tölz –
Four weeks without meat, fish, sausage, eggs, milk and co.
What happens when you go vegan for a month?
The deputy mayor of Tölz, Michael Lindmair, tried it.
In an interview, he takes stock of the conclusion of the Tölzer Veg.
Mr. Lindmair, was it a big challenge to eat vegan for four weeks?
Not really.
One imagines this to be more complicated than it is.
Shopping, cooking or baking was no problem at all.
I didn't even need vegan substitutes - except vegan butter, but I didn't really need that either.
A good olive oil on the bread does it too.
Wasn't there a single product that you missed during this time?
Of course it was a change.
But I didn't really miss anything.
For example, when I prepared the children's snacks, I had to consciously remind myself not to eat the sausage or piece of cheese right then.
I also had to hold back a piece of chocolate that you eat quickly in between meals.
But it's really not all that bad.
Good olive oil instead of butter
How did you feel physically at that time?
Increasingly better.
I got fitter and no longer had a midday slump.
It has always been easier for me to get out of bed in the morning.
Did you lose weight?

I lost about six kilos in the month.
That's crazy.
But that is certainly also due to the combination of vegan nutrition and metabolism coaching, which I attended and used at the same time.
Lindmair: "I lost about six kilos"
What will you take with you from the time?
I will try to put in a few vegan days a week in the future.
I don't intend to change completely, because I'm really looking forward to the first barbecue evening this summer.
