Theater, the great revivals to see in Paris

2022-05-26T14:54:09.123Z

Prevented by the horrors of the Covid and or great public successes, these pieces are covers and some have been running for several seasons. A selection with which we are sure not to be mistaken.

“A love story” at La Scala

Staged for the first time in January 2020, this is a piece that has wasted no time playing almost 400 performances (and this despite the pandemic!) since its debut.

A sign that does not deceive, its author, the talented Alexis Michalik obtained in 2020 the Molière for directing in a private theater.

The story is a rather tragic one of a deep love, a birth and a drama.

The characters are definitely not spared.

Katia and Justine are in love, they decide to have a child but the latter disappears shortly before the birth.

Years later, Katia died.

Who will raise the child born of this union?

If the play is played until the end of June, it will meet its audience from July 7 to 30 in Avignon with the original cast (until

"Cinderella", at the Porte Saint Martin Theater

This theatrical “re-creation” of the tale is one of Joël Pommerat's most beautiful shows, enchanting for children and their parents alike.

The story of this “very young girl” who, when her mother dies, promises never to stop thinking about her for more than five minutes is chiseled like a diamond in the rough.

Brilliantly staged and performed.

"Twelve angry men" at the Hébertot Theater

“Already 400 performances and more than 100,000 spectators” announces the poster for this play named best play at the Crystal Globes in 2018. It is the play with five revivals since its creation in October 2017 until January 2022. A very beautiful story for this show taken from the American masterpiece by Reginald Rose written in 1953 and adapted for the screens in 1957 by Sidney Lumet.

At the Hébertot Theater 70 years after its creation, Francis Lombrail adapted the play and Charles Tordjman directed it.

An undeniable success.

However, the subject divides as much as it unites and appeals to the foundations of humanity.

A trial for parricide, a young man accused and a jury to decide his fate or his acquittal.

Gathered behind closed doors,

the jurors continue the trial and question their certainties.

A classic still at the heart of current questions.

Sylvain Tesson turned it into a successful book that became a film and then turned into a play.

Nice progress.

However, the subject is to say the least unexpected.

A man (the author in this case) promises to leave to isolate himself for a few months in a hut on the shore of Lake Baikal.

All before he was forty.

And there in the middle of Russian cedars, several hours walk from the first human and with vodka for only remedy, he experiences the most total solitude, silence and infinite time.

In the midst of the ideal library he has built up, he enjoys the assurance, during his chosen exile, of not harming the planet.

Finally nature turns out to be more noisy and present than expected.

When it's not the ice of the lake that sings the temperature variations, it's

is the growl of a bear that pulls him out of his peace.

Locked up in his “wooden tomb”, the hermit as he calls himself discovers the hidden faces and the borders of his being.

In the small room of the Montparnasse pocket theater, the decor made up of wooden logs which form the walls of the cabin is beautifully animated by the steps and gestures of William Mesguich, alone in the staging and interpretation.

Staged by the director and actor in November 2019 for the Théâtre de la Huchette, the play has already been revived three times as a matter of course at the Poche Montparnasse (directed by Philippe and Stéphanie Tesson).

The piece, which is continuing its journey, will also be performed during the Molière month at Versailles in the old stables on June 7.

Continuing its momentum, we will be pleased to find the freshness of the forests of Siberia in the languor of Avignon in July at the Théâtre des Gémeaux and thus reach 150 performances with its interpreter.

"In the forests of Siberia", until the 20th at the Théâtre de Poche Montparnasse (Paris 6th).

June 7 at Mois Molière and in Avignon from July 7 to 30 at the Théâtre des gémeaux.
