The Mexican authorities assured this Thursday that they will request the exhumation of the body of Debanhi Escobar, the 18-year-old girl whose body was found in the cistern of a motel in Nuevo León in April after spending several days missing.
The investigation into the causes of her death has confronted the authorities and the family.
The Undersecretary of Federal Security, Ricardo Mejía, indicated that the Nuevo León Prosecutor's Office will ask a judge to
exhume the body of the young woman
to analyze aspects of the autopsy carried out before the burial, according to the newspaper Reforma.
Mejía announced last week that the government would carry out a new analysis to clarify the death of the young woman since the two autopsies carried out, the official one and one commissioned by the family, showed contradictions.
While the first pointed out that her death was accidental, the second concluded that she was raped and murdered.

The young woman's father, Mario Escobar, told the Sin Embargo news portal two days ago that he feels sad to think that he could have found his daughter alive, since the base of the search teams was only a few meters from the Nueva Castilla Motel where she was found dead.
