In Baden-Württemberg, a regional train collided with a bus.

There are dozens injured.

The damage is probably in the millions.

Update from May 24, 6:20 p.m .:

The police published further details about the accident of a regional train and a bus.

Accordingly, the accident took its course with a previous accident with a motorcyclist near the level crossing.

As a result, traffic was backed up and the bus came to a standstill between the barriers on the tracks.

The barriers would then have hit the roof of the bus when they were lowered.

Although the 39-year-old bus driver drove forward a bit, the train hit the rear of the vehicle.

The 33-year-old train driver was no longer able to brake in time, which is why the regional train hit the bus with great force.

Lucky in misfortune: after the accident with the motorcycle, rescue workers were on site who would have provided help quickly.

According to the police, damage to the train was around one million euros, while the damage to the burned-out bus cost around 250,000 euros.

Update from May 24, 5:05 p.m .:

After the accident between a regional train and a bus, the police estimate the damage to the railway line and the train to be in the millions.

However, according to a spokeswoman for Deutsche Bahn, the scene of the accident must first be cleared before the exact extent of the damage can be assessed.

The front of the train is badly damaged, the window is chipped and there are deep holes in the train's hull.

The railway line and the federal road 28 near Blaustein and the connecting route to the Arnegg district were closed.

On the closed section between Ulm and Sigmaringen, buses will initially run as rail replacement services.

The exact cause of the accident is now to be determined.
