The Bayrischzell village heating becomes concrete.

The municipal council decided to award the project to a company.

A timely information event is planned.

Bayrischzell

– In view of skyrocketing energy costs, some Bavarian residents would rather heat their house with local heat from wood chips today than tomorrow.

"We keep getting inquiries as to when we'll start," reported Mayor Georg Kittenrainer (CSU) now in the municipal council.

Although he was not able to announce the start of the planned village heating system to the exact day, he was able to announce a number of innovations for the project.

New operator construct

The most far-reaching relates to the operator construct.

As reported, a company made up of two private investors was originally planned.

According to Kittenrainer, the municipality would have participated with a blocking minority of ten to 20 percent in order to be able to intervene in the interests of the citizens or customers in the event of any conflicts.

This is now obsolete because one of the two interested parties has dropped out.

But that also means that the community is out, Kittenrainer emphasized.

"It is not in the spirit of municipal law for the public sector to invest in a private company." The mayor also revealed who the latter is: Martin Storr from Geitau, who already has several local heating networks - including in his home town - maintains, will build and operate the village heating system in Bayrischzell.

Storr then took the opportunity to introduce himself to the municipal councils.

He intends to set up a GmbH with two other shareholders especially for the project.

"As a backup in case one of us fails," he explained.

The aim is still for the heating system planned for the parking lot of the suspension lift to be connected to the grid in 2023.

The material is currently available.

However, it is more the staff who are more likely to block it.

Also because of the ever faster rising construction costs, an information event will be held quickly in order to fix the contracts with the citizens and then be able to get started quickly.

"The price guarantees are only valid for two to three months," explained Storr.

The funding of currently 45 percent will probably not be granted forever.

Mayor warns of “running costs”

Kittenrainer had previously warned of "prices running away".

It is already no longer possible to keep up with the originally calculated costs – which of course will also affect the subsequent households in the end.

Although the municipality has already been able to conclude some preliminary contracts, there are still gaps in the planned network.

A number of property management companies would first have to catch up on their owners’ meetings, which were postponed due to Corona, in order to be able to make a corresponding decision.

Closing the gaps in the network is crucial for economic operation, emphasized Storr.

"Every meter that I have to dig empty through the streets is expensive." Kittenrainer replied to Regina Bleier's (CSU) question that it was even more unprofitable because it involved complicated contracts.

The municipality itself will ensure that at least the route from the central heating system on Sudelfeldstrasse down to the center is worthwhile.

She has already promised Storr that she will connect her own buildings to the village heating system.

The Catholic kindergarten and the parish home are also there, Kittenrainer assured.

Entrepreneur should lease space for heating plant

The municipal councils then unanimously decided to hand over the project to Storr and to offer him the space on the suspension lift car park for lease at conditions to be determined.

Now it is up to the entrepreneur to inform the citizens promptly about the connection costs, said Deputy Mayor Egid Stadler (CSU).

Because of the rising energy costs, many would currently think about a different heating method.

"If we don't step on the gas with the village heating, they'll drop out and look for something else."
