This is the first survey conducted since the outbreak of the Corona epidemic, in which all hospital wards except emergency wards, intensive care, rehabilitation wards, psychiatry, women, maternity and children participated.

Hospitals for which a significant increase in the concluding score has been recorded are

the Holy Family, with an increase of 13%,

thanks to an increase in both the wards and the wards.

Hadassah Mount Scopus rose by 7%

thanks to a 12% increase in the inner wing.

Laniado in Netanya rose by 6%

thanks to a 10% increase in the surgical wing;

Compared to hospitals by size, the gap is narrowing, although centers are still getting higher scores on outcome measures.

In comparison between hospitals located in the periphery and in the center of the country the differences disappear, except for questions of general satisfaction and willingness to recommend those who receive higher scores in the center.

It is evident that super centers and hospitals located in the center of the country enjoy a positive image.

Younger patients between the ages of 34-18 are less satisfied compared to patients aged 34 and over.

Non-urgent patients are more satisfied in all parameters compared to urgent patients who came through the emergency room, men are more satisfied than women, chronic patients are less satisfied in all parameters.

Inpatients who were given the option to choose the hospital are more satisfied than those who were prevented from choosing.

Hospitalized in the hallway

7% of the patients interviewed were hospitalized in the hallway during all or part of the hospitalization.

It should be noted that there is a downward trend in the rate of hospitalized in the corridor at the national level, by 11% compared to 2016, 9% compared to 2018.

The rate of those hospitalized in the corridors is higher in the internal medicine department, 10%, in general and in the internal medicine departments in particular (12%).

The proportion of those lying in the corridor is lower, 4%, in small hospitals.

The patient experience is significantly impaired while hospitalizing a hallway.

The survey recorded gaps of 8% -17% in scores between those who were hospitalized in the hallway and those who did not.

Also, among those who lay in the hallway, a higher percentage reported feeling discriminated against.

An increase in the rate of hospitalized in the corridor compared to previous years was observed in the hospitals of Shamir Assaf Harofeh, Hillel Yaffe and Barzilai.

In contrast, the significant declines in the proportion of patients hospitalized in the corridors since the previous survey have occurred in Rambam, Shaare Zedek and Laniado.

In good hands

The survey shows that 80% of patients rated their overall satisfaction with scores of 10-8, which amounted to an elaborate score of 83% satisfaction.

81% of respondents were willing to recommend the hospital where they were hospitalized;

88% felt patients were in good hands.

At the national level, the improvement achieved in the indices of treatment and respect for the patient was maintained, 88%, information and clarity of explanations 85% and the sequence of treatments 83%.

In addition, 80% are satisfied with environmental conditions.

The patient empowerment and participation index continues to rise slowly and receives a score of 77%.

Compared by department types, this year too the departments of the internal ward receive lower scores in most of the parameters examined compared to the surgical departments and the other departments, but it is evident that the internal departments continue to improve in all parameters.

From the survey data (Photo: Official website, Ministry of Health)

"The fourth review of the patient experience in the inpatient wards was conducted three years after the previous survey conducted by the Ministry of Health in 2018," said Health Ministry Director General Prof. Nachman Ash about the survey. Were able to maintain high patient satisfaction and even achieve further improvement.

This is despite the hospitals' dealing with the corona, while reducing or closing internal wards and burdening the treating staff.

This indicates the quality of the caregivers and their great dedication to their patients. "
