Wolfratshausen – On the day of urban development promotion, citizens had the opportunity to see the progress of the construction site at Untermarkt 10.

The new museum and tourist information are to be opened there on November 4th.

During the guided tours, Mayor Klaus Heilinglechner, City Manager Dr.

Stefan Werner, head of StäWo Robert Alischer, construction supervisor Sven Weidlich, town hall manager Kirsten Vogler, museum director Annekatrin Schulz and town hall employees Sabine Trinkl and Martin Melf discussed the museum concept and the construction costs.

Central elements of the 400 square meter exhibition rooms on the upper floor are a timeline that illustrates all the important events in Wolfratshausen's history, as well as a depiction of the Loisach.

All around them, open spaces with interactive stations, images, texts and exhibits invite you to linger.

This includes, for example, the everyday life of the clubs and traditional groups, the development of commercial operations, a collection by the Wolfratshausen painter Felix Bockhorni, the history of rafting and the experiences of prominent contemporary witnesses such as the poet Rainer Maria Rilke, who shared a love summer with Lou-Andreas Salomé in 1897 spent at the foot of the mountain forest.

At the end of the timeline, an interactive city workshop will be set up in which visitors can help shape the museum.

Other attractions include the historic Geiger colonial goods store and various rafting paraphernalia.

Of course there are also exhibits on the patron saint Nantovino, to whom a shrine is dedicated.

In the basement is the tourist information with a ticket sales office and a shop where coffee and small snacks are offered.

The total costs for the completely renovated conversion amount to 4.5 million euros.

The government of Upper Bavaria is expected to support the project with 1.7 million euros.

The renovation and conversion of the museum in Wolfratshausen is a major project.

The construction period will be two years before the building and its facilities can be opened in autumn 2022.

Until then, construction progress will be followed at regular intervals by employees with cameras.

Corresponding pictures and videos can be found at www.museum.wolfratshausen.de.

Another 300,000 euros come from the State Ministry of Economics, the Bavarian State Office for the Preservation of Monuments, the District of Upper Bavaria, the District Home Office and the Bavarian State Foundation, State Office for Non-State Museums.
