An Israeli citizen who went on vacation in Turkey yesterday (Thursday) was arrested in unclear circumstances.
His family claims that this is a false arrest that resulted from a mistake by the Turkish authorities.
The Foreign Ministry said the case was known.
The man, 47, from the Sharon area, received a phone call and was asked to meet the person who called at the entrance to the lobby of the hotel where he was staying.
When he arrived at the scene, masked detectives jumped on him, handcuffed him and arrested him.
He was transferred to an interrogation facility where he has been since the day of his arrest.
This afternoon, the Israeli was brought to court in Istanbul.
