At the end of a small path at altitude, with a breathtaking view of the Trois Vallées massifs... "Far from the crowds and close to the marmots", as he likes to imagine it, Thibaut will soon be able to enjoy his future second home: a mountain barn in the heart of the Belleville valley in Savoie, on the heights of the town of Saint-Martin-de-Belleville.

In order not to miss this typical building of 58 m² and its 108 m² of land, he made an offer "barely below the price", displayed at 160,000 euros, in the wake of his visit.

"There are very few properties available in the sector, everything is going at breakneck speed...", he says.

The sales agreement must be signed shortly.

Until now occupied in the summer by shepherds who come to watch over their flocks, this mountain house will soon become a family space "to get quiet, enjoy nature and appreciate the setting".

"When you're at an altitude of 1,500 m, with an unobstructed view of the stars in the evening, without any light pollution... It's quite incredible", appreciates this 36-year-old dad, who had wanted "for a long time, to to acquire an alpine chalet”.

A pied-à-terre an hour away

On a daily basis, Thibaut and his companion live not far from there, in a small town in the Chambéry-Aix-les-Bains basin.

To reach Saint-Martin-de-Belleville, they will have to travel less than 100 km, a little over an hour's drive.

“Last year, we spotted another chalet in Switzerland, on the other side of the border.

We had even made an offer but with more than two hours by car to get there, we preferred to give up, ”he says.

There, it is the assurance of being able to come if only for a day, to initially follow the renovation work which should begin in August.

"We entrust the heavy work to professionals, and we take care of the rest", explains the entrepreneur.

Beyond the pleasure of being able to come regularly to enjoy the mountains, Thibaut is happy to "build something with his hands, meet the inhabitants".

"It's sort of a return to simplicity, a corner of our own", he adds, certain to spend "ten weekends a year and one or two weeks in the summer".

And if technology permits, telecommute there occasionally.
