723 adolescents in the first placement test for the programming marathon for children and adolescents

Today, 723 adolescents from different governorates participated in the first level test for the programming marathon for children and adolescents for 2022, which is organized by the Syrian Scientific Olympiad Department at the Excellence and Creativity Authority in cooperation with the Lifelong Learning Center at the Syrian Virtual University.

The Director of the Syrian Scientific Olympiad in the Excellence and Creativity Authority, Engineer Lynn Qassem, told SANA that the test was conducted in the Syrian Virtual University centers in the governorates for the category of adolescents between the ages of 12 and 15 years, and took an hour and a quarter of an hour to determine their level in the C++ programming language and sorted them into beginner and advanced levels to start Then, they will be trained under the supervision of certified trainers who will train this age group in preparation for them to enter the competitive stage in the later stages.

Engineer Qassem indicated that the first level test for children between the ages of 8 and 11 will take place next Friday, indicating that the programming marathon aims to raise the general scientific level and enhance the logical analysis skills of young people and adolescents by teaching them scripting and graphic programming languages ​​and providing programming training including It reflects positively on their educational attainment.

According to Qassem, the marathon also works to provide useful and open scientific content available in Arabic in the field of programming and informatics that provides a supportive means for teaching computer science at the school level and raising the level of students’ knowledge and skills by participating in international competitions and sponsoring distinguished people in this field.

The phase of training, developing talents and refining skills is scheduled to begin after the leveling phase, during the month of June.

1432 male and female students from different governorates, between the ages of 8 and 15, are participating in the Program Marathon for the current year.
