Large numbers of firefighters and gendarmes are mobilized this Friday evening to deal with the consequences of a major traffic accident that occurred on the D 929, in Ercuis, around 6:30 p.m.
A car leaving the town of Ercuis hit three motorcycles traveling on the departmental road.
The provisional report shows five injuries, including several very seriously injured as far as the bikers are concerned.
According to the first findings on the spot, five people were on the motorcycles, three pilots and two passengers.
Four of these five people are in a state of absolute emergency this evening.
“We have very little visibility to engage”
On site, twenty-five firefighters from several rescue centers are still at work two hours after the accident to help the victims.
A first helicopter has already intervened to evacuate an injured person to the Amiens hospital center and a second aircraft is expected to take care of another victim.
Arrived on the scene, the mayor of Ercuis, Jean-Marie Nigay, can only note the very heavy toll of this accident.
“It is a place which until now has not been too accident prone but I have already reported it to the county council.
When you leave Ercuis, you have very little visibility to get on the departmental road.

For the time being, the precise causes of the collision have not yet been precisely determined and will have to be established by the gendarmes present on the spot.
A diversion has been put in place for motorists until the rescue operations are completed.
