The Bavarian carmaker BMW has launched a recall for several SUV models due to a software error.
Over 60,000 vehicles are affected.
Munich - The carmaker BMW has to recall more than 61,000 cars worldwide because of a software error.
This affects the models X3, X4 and 5 from the years of construction 2016 to 2022, as can be seen from information on the website of the Federal Motor Transport Authority.
Of the 61,714 vehicles worldwide, 12,721 are affected in Germany.
The faulty software update can lead to loss of torque and engine failure.
There has been no property damage so far and no one has been injured.
The information is dated last Tuesday.
A BMW spokesman said on Thursday that affected customers would receive a message to bring their car to the workshop.
The software is then reprogrammed there.
