In a TV talk, Karl Lauterbach called for the possibility of a corona mask requirement from autumn.
Minister of Justice Marco Buschmann criticized him harshly for this.
Berlin – In the ZDF program “Markus Lanz”, Health Minister Karl Lauterbach (SPD) provided new fuel for the corona virus: In the TV talk on Wednesday, he announced that he wanted to keep the option open, if necessary, to make masks compulsory indoors again to return.
The Infection Protection Act expires in September, but Lauterbach considers the option of a mask requirement indoors to be “absolutely necessary”.
With his proposal, Lauterbach's coalition partner FDP does not really open doors.
Justice Minister Marco Buschmann has now criticized Lauterbach for preparing for a recurring mask requirement in autumn and winter.
“I am in favor of following the law and order.
This provides for an evaluation," said Buschmann to the newspapers of the
Funke media group
.
Before thinking about individual measures, the results of the evaluation must be taken into account.

FDP party friend and Bundestag Vice President Wolfgang Kubicki was also critical: "There will not be another autumn and winter in which fundamental rights are restricted due to a diffuse data fog," he told the dpa.
Instead, Kubicki also called for a parliamentary review of the Corona policy.
According to Kubicki, corona restrictions are only conceivable in autumn under strict conditions.

The FDP politician also criticizes the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) and the Ministry of Health.
In his view, both institutions have not been able to collect reasonably usable data in the past two years.
According to Kubicki, without sufficient scientific data there will be no change in the Infection Protection Act and no more stricter corona measures.
The Infection Protection Act is currently only valid until September 23, 2022
According to the Infection Protection Act, the mask requirement can only apply in public transport and in a few areas such as doctor's surgeries.
Tests may still be compulsory in schools.
For all other corona measures, a declaration on corona hotspots by the federal states is required by state parliament resolution.
However, these Corona rules can only be applied until September 23, 2022.
"It's on September 23rd.
out of.
And then the question will have to be discussed again, for example whether wearing a mask indoors will become mandatory again," Lauterbach explained on ZDF.
