The first round of the presidential election in Colombia opposes this Sunday five candidates: Gustavo Petro, Federico Gutierriez, Sergio Fajardo, Rodolfo Hernandez and Enrique Gomez.
Ingrid Betancourt ended up throwing in the towel.
Very unpopular in her country, she received less than 1% of voting intentions.
After trying to rally former president Alvaro Uribe to her side, she now supports Rodolfo Hernandez.
Gustavo Petro is the favorite in the polls.
He is credited with more than 40% of voting intentions.
Federico Gutierrez by 27% and Hernandez by 24%.
Fajardo does not seem likely to exceed 15%.
Fajardo defines himself as the center candidate.
It is Rodolfo Hernandez who currently benefits from the best dynamics and he could well steal second place from Federico Gutierrez and qualify for the second round which will take place on June 19.
