The number of crimes fell significantly compared to 2020 to 3,693, the lowest figure in ten years.

At the same time, the clear-up rate of the previous year (76.5 percent) was almost maintained at 74.1 percent.

Strößner: "Three out of four criminal offenses could be cleared up - of course I'm particularly pleased about that." This is also due to the participation of the population, which was able to provide information on the investigation of criminal offenses in a number of cases, explains the police chief.

There is also a positive development to be reported in the traffic accident figures: with 3,627 traffic accidents, the number increased compared to the previous year (3,428), but the numbers are still at a low level, according to Strößner.

Despite the tragedy of the individual cases, the number of six fatalities is the lowest in ten years.

"Road safety remains the focus of traffic prevention and traffic monitoring," said the police chief.

Both the district office and the police have been under a lot of pressure in recent months due to the large number of meetings in connection with the corona pandemic.
