Unterallgäu – On Tuesday, Dr.

Claudia Strößner, chief of police at the police headquarters in Swabia South/West, and district administrator Alex Eder came together for the annual security talks in the district office.

What they highlighted: Among other things, the number of crimes and traffic deaths fell - each to the best value in the last ten years.

Chief of Police Dr.

Strößner and District Administrator Eder agreed that the security situation in the district was very good in 2021.

The number of crimes fell significantly compared to 2020 to 3,693, the lowest figure in ten years.

At the same time, the clear-up rate of the previous year (76.5 percent) was almost maintained at 74.1 percent.

Chief of Police Dr.

Strößner: "Three out of four criminal offenses could be cleared up - of course I'm particularly pleased about that." This is also due to the participation of the population, which was able to provide information on the investigation of criminal offenses in a number of cases, explains the police chief.

increase in traffic accidents

There is also a positive development to be reported in the traffic accident figures: with 3,627 traffic accidents, the number increased compared to the previous year (3,428), but the numbers are still at a low level, according to Strößner.

Despite the tragedy of the individual cases, the number of six fatalities is the lowest in ten years.

"Road safety remains the focus of traffic prevention and traffic monitoring," said the police chief.

The security situation in connection with the Russia-Ukraine war was also discussed in detail in the district office.

“The current challenges for our region are great.

The close exchange of information and the intensive cooperation are the basis for coping with the joint tasks,” summarize the district administrator and the chief of police.

Both the district office and the police have been under a lot of pressure in recent months due to the large number of meetings in connection with the corona pandemic.

District Administrator Eder and Chief of Police Dr.

Strößner was relieved that the meetings in the Unterallgäu district have always taken a peaceful course.

Finally, District Administrator Eder thanked the chief of police for the “close and trusting cooperation between the security authorities.

Close and solution-oriented cooperation is particularly important in difficult times,” says Eder.
