Flames in the engine compartment: the car burns out on the B11

Shock for three boys from the district of Garmisch-Partenkirchen: the car they were driving to Walchensee on the evening of the holiday suddenly caught fire.

Walchensee/Krün - It happened around 6:15 p.m.

The boys - a 21-year-old from Krün was behind the wheel - were just able to turn it off and get to safety when the engine compartment was engulfed in flames.

The Walchensee fire brigade was on site with nine emergency services and brought the fire under control, reports the Kochel police.

The B11 was completely closed for a short time, but then excursion traffic could be routed past in one lane.

The road maintenance department still has to repair the damage to the asphalt.

The material damage to the car amounts to around 3000 euros.
