The third top scorer in the history of the UEFA Champions League, Karim Benzema, continues to expand his scoring figures.
The 34-year-old footballer is on the lookout for the great football legends in that tournament.
The French player reaped a brilliant championship especially in the knockout rounds: in the semi-final against Manchester City, he scored three goals (two in the first leg, one in the second leg) to lead his team to the final against Liverpool.
It was being crucial in the final phases.
He scored two consecutive hat-tricks: the first in the comeback against PSG and the second in the first leg of the quarter-final at Stamford Bridge against Chelsea.
And to this we must add the decisive goal in the second leg against Chelsea to get Real Madrid through to the semi-finals.
In this edition of the Champions League, he has scored 15 goals in 11 games played with an average of 1.37 goals per game, according to the UEFA portal.
The French player tied with Lewandowski and is still alive in the competition with the final to be played.

He tied with the historic Raúl González (323) and is only surpassed by Cristiano Ronaldo (451).
The footballer is at his best and can continue to make history.
If he continues on the scoring path in the Champions League final and the following season, Benzema will continue to score more goals to consolidate himself as the second top merengue scorer.
