On May 5, the leaders of the majority unveiled two related, yet distinct initiatives: on the one hand, the creation of Ensemble, an electoral cartel bringing together LREM, the party of Emmanuel Macron, the MoDem of François Bayrou and Horizons d 'Edouard Philippe;
and on the other hand the transformation of La République en Marche into a Renaissance.

If the first act has been more noticed, it is because it is effective immediately.
This is to sponsor single nominations from across majority sensibilities in each of the 577 constituencies.
And this agreement had a political virtue: it signed the appeasement between Édouard Philippe and the Macronists, the former Prime Minister obtaining the guarantee of a clean parliamentary group.
Compared to the constitution of this cartel, the change of name of LREM appeared as a simple ripolinage, a strictly semantic operation.
