The Iranian Foreign Ministry summoned the Swiss Chargé d'Affairs as the sponsor of US interests in Tehran to inform him of Iran's strong protest against the US administration's practices.
According to IRNA, the summoning of the Swiss Chargé d'Affairs comes as a continuation of the diplomatic efforts made by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to lift the seizure of an Iranian ship that was carrying oil and was confiscated in the territorial waters of Greece under American pressure and intervention.
The ministry expressed to the Swiss diplomat Tehran's strong protest against the continued blatant US violation of international laws that guarantee freedom of navigation and free international trade, calling for the immediate release of the ship and its cargo.
For his part, the Swiss Chargé d'Affairs announced that he would convey the matter to US officials as soon as possible.
