Hong Kong people finally have a chance to revisit Japan!
In recent days, Japan has gradually opened up the entry of tourists and put Hong Kong on the "blue list". Hong Kong people can enter without quarantine and isolation regardless of whether they have had an injection. However, they must undergo nucleic acid testing 72 hours before departure, and they must also enter with a tour group in the initial stage.
However, according to the current anti-epidemic regulations in Hong Kong, people returning to Hong Kong must have received two doses of the vaccine, which means that people who have only received one injection or who have not been vaccinated may not be able to return to Hong Kong on the day they leave the country.
How many people have only one injection or no injection at present?
According to the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, from June 1, the local area will be divided into three groups: red, yellow and blue. Passengers from the blue-listed areas can be exempted from testing or quarantine regardless of whether they have taken all three shots; Passengers from yellow-listed areas can be exempted from testing or quarantine as long as they have received three doses of the designated vaccine.
Initially, immigrants will be required to join a tour group.
Hong Kong's inclusion on the "blue list" means that Hong Kong people can travel to Japan with or without injections, but another key factor is the restrictions on entry into Hong Kong.
At present, Hong Kong people returning to Hong Kong must not only be quarantined in an isolated hotel for 7 days, but also must have received two doses of the vaccine, which means that those who have only received one injection or have not been injected will not be able to return to Hong Kong.
According to government figures, there are currently 6.31 million people over the age of 3 who have received two doses of the vaccine, accounting for 86.7% of the population in this age group.
Based on this calculation, 13.3% of the people could not return to Hong Kong after leaving the country, which is equivalent to about 968,000 people. It is believed that if they travel unexpectedly, the government will relax the entry and exit restrictions in the future.
