Weariness of fighting too often in vain to modify bills fully drafted in the ministries, fed up with the sterile contests between majority and opposition, refusal of the group's corporalism, desire to be better considered and, sometimes, better paid... The vocations crisis is confirmed in the National Assembly.

Two years ago, the municipal authorities had already sent a worrying signal: we had never seen so many deputies, among the most seasoned and active, abandon their national mandate to fall back on their local stronghold.

"I leave after eight years of defending, without much success, amendments until the hour and listening to the answers of the ministers dictated by the senior administration",

summarized the Republican Valérie Lacroute in the hemicycle as a farewell speech.

Elected in Nemours, she left her seat in Seine-et-Marne.
