The city council of Miesbach has approved the price increase for the conversion of the so-called beneficiary house and has commissioned the next steps.
Construction could start in early 2023.
Miesbach – In the current situation, in which the domestic construction industry finds itself as a result of the consequences of the Ukraine war and corona-related bottlenecks, it is not exactly surprising: the so-called Schaffner Benefiziatenhaus on Kolpingstraße, which the city of Miesbach built for the joint after-school care operation with the Catholic If you want to rebuild and renovate a church community, it will be noticeably more expensive.
The planned costs are expected to increase by 290,000 euros to a total of 2.5 million euros - a message that the city council was not happy about in its meeting on Wednesday evening.
Room costs could be reduced
Planner Christian Mahr from Miesbach was able to explain the development in a way that was easy to understand.
45,000 euros are due because it turned out that, contrary to what was initially assumed, sliding doors would be necessary.
According to Mahr, it is also advisable to completely redo the existing electrical installation because there is no labeling on the existing one.
The ventilation system is also becoming more expensive, and the existing one-pipe system can no longer be used for heating.
"These increases were not foreseeable," Mahr summarized his remarks.
At least he had good news to report.
So you don't have to renew the old parquet floors - "you can straighten them and keep them".
In addition, Mahr has noticed that the price of wood is falling again.
This would probably also reduce the costs for the carpenter.
What turned out to be too expensive is the connection to a district heating network.
As Mahr reported, laying the line was too difficult because of the wooded slope.
Nature conservation has vetoed this.
The building is therefore supplied with its own pellet heating system.
"Plus of 13 percent corresponds to reality"
The city council members took note of the increase in price without much hesitation.
"The increase in costs is understandable," said Paul Fertl (SPD) in summary.
“An increase of 13 percent corresponds to reality.
In addition, the individual points were explained in detail.”
The city council members took note of the increased costs and commissioned the further planning steps.
At the same time, the administration should work out ways of counter-financing the additional costs.
Mahr plans to start construction work this year.
The outdoor work is to start so that there is more space for the logistics on the construction site.
The start of construction on the building itself is scheduled for early 2023.
