The second fire station on Flurstrasse in Fürstenfeldbruck is becoming more expensive: the costs are now 7.3 million euros.

Another problem: The construction companies are trying to pass on the explosion in material prices.

Fürstenfeldbruck – The total costs for the new fire station II with apartments on Flurstrasse will increase by a further 373,000 euros (5.4 percent).

This means that the original construction costs have risen from a total of 6.9 million euros to 7.3 million euros.

The wood price

The reason for the additional costs can be attributed to various causes, the architect reported to the planning and construction committee last Wednesday evening.

The work for the locksmith had to be tendered twice.

The costs for the façade rose, as did those for the site power supply and site heating.

The ancillary costs also incurred slightly higher costs due to additional experts and rescheduling.

But you have to fight especially with the massive construction price increases, it said.

Wood, for example, now costs up to 30 percent more.

The difference was mainly at the expense of the companies.

However, they in turn tried to pass on the additional costs they have to bear via supplements.

Due to the corona pandemic, the appointments got through relatively well, the architect continued.

Sometimes you had to get over a one or two week absence when employees of companies were sick.

The delivery difficulties for wood and various other raw materials were more serious.

There are currently severe delivery bottlenecks due to the Ukraine war for certain components, such as steel.

Working together with the companies turned out to be difficult overall.

still keep the appointment

60 percent of the budget has already been settled with the companies, 40 percent is still open.

In any case, the companies must check the plausibility of any cost increases that the client has incurred as a result of the war in Ukraine.

But some savings were also achieved, for example by reducing the number of wall tiles or painting the exposed concrete surfaces.

There were also some household leftovers that could be transferred.

The total costs of the new building are broken down into 40 percent for the housing area and 60 percent for the fire brigade area.

The architect concludes that one is in good spirits that the move-in date of August 1st can be kept.
