Germering – With various campaigns to support the Ukraine, 6,513.02 euros could be collected at the Germering Carl-Spitzweg-Gymnasium in the last few weeks.
The SMV had asked all students for a pocket money donation, and the political elective course had made peace buttons and handed them out in return for a donation.
The parents of the musicians of all grades were particularly generous at a benefit concert for the Ukraine, which was the first concert to be held live at the school again.
The money was passed on to the school partner project "SOS Children's Villages" so that families in Ukraine can be supported.
The teachers donated money so that the workbooks for the welcome group's Ukrainian-German lessons could be bought.
Twelve Ukrainian students are currently attending the classes, and more will be registered from the beginning of June when they will have completed the Ukrainian school year in online classes.
Everyone feels comfortable and after three hours of German lessons a day with a further two to three hours of lessons in the regular classes, they have settled in well.
They also take part in excursions and get to know Bavaria in the process.
