The Russian Foreign Ministry considered that the vote of the World Health Assembly, the highest governing body of the World Health Organization, revealed that the international community began to look more realistically at the situation in Ukraine.
And the Russia Today website quoted the Russian Foreign Ministry as saying in a statement today: “We announce with satisfaction that among the 183 member states of the World Health Organization that participated in the session and had the right to vote, 88 countries supported the Ukrainian decision” on depriving Russia of the right to vote in the international organization.
The ministry indicated that the Kyiv authorities and their supporters "were not able to mobilize even half of the votes of the participants in favor of their decision, despite the unprecedented pressure measures."
"A trend is emerging in which the international community begins to look more and more realistically at the situation in Ukraine and its environs, not wanting to sacrifice multilateral cooperation in areas important to all of humanity," the statement added.
A vote in the 75th session of the World Health Assembly today did not succeed in depriving Russia of the right to vote in the international organization based on a draft resolution put forward by Kyiv against the background of the Russian military operation in Ukraine.
