A visitor to the Museum of the Mujahid Sheikh Saleh Al-Ali in the city of Sheikh Badr in the Tartous countryside stands in front of the beauty of nature and the simplicity and richness of the place, especially as it displays historical documents and equipment used by Al-Ali and his colleagues in their struggle against the French colonizer.

The museum, which was the home of the Mujahid Saleh Al-Ali, is a distinctive model of Syrian architecture and embraces in its halls a long history of the Syrian struggle.

The museum’s halls and green squares are full of visitors at all times, but the movement in it increases dramatically during the summer, and its visitors come from all segments and ages and from different areas of Tartous and other governorates.

Every visitor to the museum is a visitor to the tomb of the Mujahid Saleh al-Ali, which is a symbol of the great Syrian revolution in 1925 because they are located next to each other, according to the museum director, Tammam Merhej, who explained that the square surrounding the museum is also the seat of festivals and official events in the region, the most important of which is the annual festival that is held every year in memory of Eid. Evacuation.

The museum displays everything related to the Mujahid and the men of the revolution against the French occupation, where Merhej explained that it consists of 7 halls, the first hall was designated to receive visitors and get tickets. An old rural house dating back to the historical period in which Sheikh Saleh Al-Ali was contemporary, and it includes samples of the tools that were used in that period.

Equipment belonging to Sheikh Saleh Al-Ali and his comrades who struggled against the French occupier had a special room in the museum, where the museum director indicated that it included used weapons and ammunition, safes for the mujahideen’s weapons, the mujahid’s clothes and books, and some remnants of French equipment.

The museum includes the Reading House, a library that includes a number of diverse cultural, literary and social books, children’s books, and a list of the names of Syrian martyrs who defended the country since the beginning of the revolutions against French colonialism, in addition to the exhibition hall during festivals.

The museum is distinguished by its colorful green gardens throughout the year and a panorama supported by pictures that talk about the great Mujahid Saleh Al-Ali, his life and his battles.

It is noteworthy that the opening of the official museum was in 2008 after the completion of the restoration work based on the decision of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers dated 4/18/1999 to acquire the Mujahid House and turn it into a museum.
