The municipality of Hohenbrunn is spending a total of 780,000 euros to renovate Otto-Hahn-Strasse in the Riemerlingen industrial park.

Hohenbrunn

- This year the work should be done.

Construction engineer Mario Illigen showed several photos of the damage to the municipal council.

Otto-Hahn-Strasse is simply worn out and needs general renovation.

In the meantime, there have always been emergency repairs, but the patches in the road surface must be replaced with a new road surface.

Bus stop is relocated

The drainage is not satisfactory in many places in the road system, curbs have to be replaced.

Rainer Seidl from the Dachau engineering office Seidl & Partner noted that the road works also enable improvements that are not just a renovation.

For example, a bus stop is to be relocated, which can also be made completely barrier-free: “We will then also receive a subsidy for this.” A south-north bicycle connection with its own ford, which provides a protective strip, is also planned.

The road surface should last up to 12 years

In addition, more caissons are to be laid in order to be able to better absorb the amount of rain.

Seidl noted that a new road surface would then last another ten to twelve years, so that no further work on the road should be necessary in the foreseeable future.

The turning hammer at the end of the road to the tennis court is to be rounded off a bit so that long truck trains that are common today can turn around there without any problems.

Mario Illigen from the municipality added that the bus stop in front of today's Montessori school should remain untouched.

It will therefore not be made barrier-free, since the time window is foreseeable as to how long the school will be located there.

The facility is to find a new home next to the secondary school west of the railway in Hohenbrunn.

discussion in the council

Anton Fritzmaier (CSU) asked whether the plans had already been coordinated with the property owners.

Illigen said no, but assured that "nuances on site" would be included.

Pauline Miller (citizens' forum) was concerned about the local businesses, which will experience restrictions as a result of the construction measures.

This is of course taken into account, according to Illigen: "Of course we have to coordinate with them, especially since Otto-Hahn-Strasse is a dead-end street." For this reason, the work will be carried out in sections on one side and the main work will be carried out during the summer holidays.

Specifically affected is Otto-Hahn-Strasse to the east of Rudolf-Diesel-Strasse.

The western part was renovated in 2018.
