First travel for three months with the 9-euro ticket - and then switch to the free climate ticket from September to October.
The city of Darmstadt makes this possible.
Darmstadt – The city of Darmstadt had already announced in January that it would introduce a free “climate ticket” for local transport from July.
The administration is now announcing a change of plan: The sale of the free ticket should be linked directly to the term of the 9-euro ticket and should therefore start on September 1st, as reported by op-online.de.
All new citizens and residents of Darmstadt who decide to deregister their car are entitled to the ticket.
Head of the mobility department Michael Kolmer (Greens) hopes to use the incentive to contribute to the city's major goal: climate neutrality by 2035.

The climate ticket is then valid in the RMV tariff zone 4000, beginning with the month in which you register your arrival or vehicle deregistration, or in the following month.
It is planned that the Heag-mobilo customer center at Luisenplatz and the RMV mobility center at the main train station will issue the ticket.
The e-ticket is personalized and non-transferrable and is valid for three months in combination with the ID.
