At least five civilians have been killed in 24 hours in the Lugansk region of eastern Ukraine, according to regional governor Sergei


Four civilians were killed in Severodonetsk, the regional capital under the control of the Ukrainian authorities that the Russians are seeking to conquer and 50 buildings were damaged there, explained the governor of the region Sergei Gaïdaï on his Telegram account.

A man was also killed by a shell in Komychouvakha, 50 kilometers from Severodonetsk.

“The people of Severodonetsk have forgotten what a ceasefire for at least half an hour is,” he added.

According to him, “The Russians are constantly shelling the residential areas”.

Many residential buildings throughout the region were destroyed.

In the past 24 hours, 12 enemy attacks have been repelled in the Luhansk region.

One enemy tank, five artillery systems, five armored personnel carriers and five vehicles were destroyed.

Ukrainian air defense units also shot down an enemy Ka-52 helicopter, a cruise missile and an Orlan-10 drone.

A “genocide”

As noted, the Luhansk region is constantly under Russian fire.

Until recently, around 40,000 civilians remained in the area refusing to evacuate.

For his part, Pavlo Kyrylenko, governor of Donetsk, another Donbass region in eastern Ukraine, reported Thursday evening five civilians killed during the day.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky accused Russia of carrying out "genocide" in the Donbass, in his video address Thursday evening.

"The current offensive of the occupiers in the Donbass could empty the region of its inhabitants," he said, accusing the Russians of seeking to "burn down" Severodonetsk and other towns in the region.
