With the 9-euro ticket you can get cheaply across Germany - but you need patience.

Across Germany with the 9-euro ticket from Regensburg?
This will soon be possible for everyone - however, depending on the destination, patience will be required.
Regensburg – The 9-euro ticket from the 2022 relief package will be valid from June 1st. You can then travel across Germany for three months for 9 euros each.
However, there are also exceptions: A trip to Salzburg (Austria) is also possible with the cheap ticket.
9-euro ticket from June 1 - In 13 hours from Nuremberg to Sylt
However, the 9-euro ticket is only valid for local transport, it is not valid for the ICE.
For train passengers, this means that if you want to travel through Germany for 9 euros, you have to plan a lot of time for certain routes.
From Nuremberg to Sylt, for example, it takes almost 13 hours and five changes are necessary.

9-euro ticket: From Regensburg to Hamburg in 11 hours - with the ICE it takes less than six hours
For comparison: It takes almost eleven hours from Regensburg to Hamburg with the 9-euro ticket.
Without a 9-euro ticket - i.e. with the ICE - it only takes five hours and 32 minutes.

With the 9-euro ticket in 14 hours from Regensburg to Sylt
You can travel to Sylt from the city on the Danube in 14 hours and 20 minutes with a 9-euro ticket.
With the ICE you would be at your destination in just over nine hours.
Instead of changing trains seven times (as with the 9-euro ticket), this would only be necessary twice with the ICE.
For a faster arrival, however, significantly more money is due: you pay 108.90 euros - almost 100 euros more than with the cheap ticket.
