With the participation of Syria, the international conference (Europe, Asia.. Dialogue of Civilizations), which was held by the Eurasian Dialogue Committee in the Russian Federal Council in the Russian region of Perm, discussed the current approaches to dialogue among civilizations in light of the dynamically changing world conditions.

The conference witnessed a large presence from various Russian regions, representatives of foreign missions and experts from many countries, including China, India, Belarus, Iran, Mongolia and Kyrgyzstan, with the aim of providing an overview of the current approaches to dialogue among civilizations in light of the conditions of a dynamically changing world.

Perm Governor Dmitry Makhonin stressed during the opening of the conference that the world will not return to what it was before as it moves towards establishing a multipolar system based on equality, dialogue and development, expressing confidence that the Conference on Dialogue of Civilizations will produce fruitful results in favor of equal integration among Eurasian countries.

Makhonin pointed out that the Perm region includes 140 nationalities and representatives of the various monotheistic religions live on its land, which qualifies it to constitute a fertile ground for talking about the dialogue of civilizations and an important platform for working within the framework of integration with the countries of the Eurasian space.

In turn, the representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry in Perm, Alexander Kharlov, in his speech on behalf of Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, stressed that this event comes at the right time against the background of the crises and turmoil that the world is witnessing at the present time, expressing his confidence that the future is mainly linked to the Asian and European continents whose peoples seek to build a dialogue Civilization built on the basis of mutual respect as well as the establishment of a multipolar system.

For his part, the Coordinator of the Eurasian Dialogue, Russian Senator Andrei Klimov, described this event as a transcontinental and on the basis of which marathon festivals were held during the past years in many countries of the world, with the participation of more than 50,000 people, pointing out that the Eurasian Dialogue is based on peaceful coexistence between countries.

The Vice-President of the Russian Federation Council Konstantin Kosachev also pointed out that modern Russia has tried over the past three decades to establish dialogue mainly with Europe and across the Atlantic with the United States, but these attempts failed because the Western world was willing to accept Russia only on the basis of a country that admits defeat In the Cold War, it abandons its national interests and accepts the role of regional power only.

In his turn, Syria's Ambassador to Russia, Dr. Riyad Haddad, stressed in his speech the importance of participating in this conference against the backdrop of the structural events that are taking place that change the international system and put an end to the unipolarity from which the peoples of the world have suffered.

Haddad said, "We are meeting today to discuss the prospects for civilizational cooperation between Europe and Asia and to restore the bright history of human civilization that began at the first contact between these two continents and will regain its glory when the prospects for cooperation between East and West return to its previous era based on respect for the other and dialogue between civilizations."

Haddad stressed that the link between what is currently happening in Ukraine and the topic of the conference today is a close organic link, stressing that there can be no civilized dialogue between East and West in light of the American hegemony over the world, nor can Asia and Europe establish real cooperation based on common interests and respect for the sovereignty of countries unless A multipolar world has not been established.

Haddad made it clear that Syria had fully experienced this when it tried to establish such a civilized relationship and expand the horizons of cooperation between the East and the West, but was met by targeting it with a devastating terrorist war that claimed hundreds of thousands of innocent lives, in addition to unjust economic sanctions aimed at starving the Syrian people in parallel with the theft of Syrian resources and wealth by the United States. and its allies.

Haddad pointed out that the expansion of NATO since 2014 aims to cut off any communication between East and West, put pressure on Russia and target the civilized model, expressing his confidence that friends in Russia and peace-loving countries will succeed in their endeavors to establish a multipolar world order that enables countries and peoples to thrive and achieve their ambitions. Away from the politics of dictates and domination.
