In mid-April, a driver hit a man and left him in a ditch, seriously injured.

The police are searching for the perpetrator with great pressure.

Feuchtwangen – More than a month ago, the news caused consternation in Bavaria: In the early morning of April 23, a Saturday, a young man was hit by a vehicle in the Feuchtwangen area (Ansbach district).

The 20-year-old accident victim remained seriously injured in the ditch – the driver fled undetected.

The police are still looking for the driver with high pressure.

Serious case of hit-and-run: police have a specific car in their sights

A motorist driving by then found the young man with serious injuries.

He immediately alerted the police, who found parts of a VW Bora at the scene of the accident.

According to the police press release, the 16-strong investigative team that has now been set up is looking for this car.

The fragments of the VW Bora found on site, which dates from the production period between 1999 and 2006, can also come from another accident, officials point out.

Therefore, the investigators address the following question to owners of a VW Bora, with the answers to which affected witnesses can make an important contribution to the investigative work:

  • Who has had an accident or wildlife accident on the district road AN 5 between Bergnerzell and Ungetsheim in the past, where parts of the vehicle front broke?

Police manhunt at full speed: reward suspended

The 20-year-old was in mortal danger for several weeks after the serious accident.

His condition has since stabilized, but he still needs hospital care.

In order to catch the person who caused the accident who fled, the investigative team also put the following questions to the civilian population:

The Bavarian State Criminal Police Office has offered a reward of 3,000 euros for solving the crime.

The award of these successes to the exclusion of legal recourse and does not apply to persons who deal professionally with the clarification of criminal offenses.
