Starnberg – not only live and spend your free time in one of the most beautiful regions in Bavaria, but also work.

This is important to many employees.

And that is actively promoted in the region.

For example with the job and training fair on Monday, May 30th in Starnberg.

There are attractive jobs in various sectors not only in Munich, but also in the countryside.

That's what the organizers of the job and training fair say at a press conference in which they draw attention to the event at the Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten.

Trainees, unskilled workers and specialists have the opportunity to inform themselves informally and without obligation from over 60 employers.

As part of an exhibition, at job speed dating and at lectures.

Exhibition, job speed dating, specialist lectures

The job and training fair took place for the first time last year.

At that time, visitors met 35 exhibitors.

From one year to the next, the number of participants has almost doubled.

This shows how urgently the companies need trainees and qualified employees, say the trade fair organizers.

Around 60 companies are represented this time with around 300 vacancies, which is an average of five jobs per company.

The exhibition, which is being carried out by the Society for Economic and Tourism Development in the Starnberg District mbH (gwt) with the Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten and the reorientation null-eight 12 GbR, is divided into two.

In the morning from 8.30 a.m. around 600 pupils from middle schools, junior high schools and high schools in the district come to the Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten to find out more.

Jobs from 450 euros to full-time

In the afternoon from 4 p.m. they have the opportunity to attend mass with their parents.

In the afternoon, employees are also invited to talk to the company representatives present and to find out about the job offers.

The spectrum is diverse - from the IT sector to engineering to administrative activities.

The tourism industry and the hotel industry are represented, as are crafts, the health, medical and care sectors.

According to those responsible, unskilled workers as well as executives can find vacancies on the job exchange and thus the opportunity to develop professionally and financially.

"There's something for everyone, whether you're a 450-euro worker, part-time or full-time," explains Sabine Ostermann, Managing Director of the reorientation null-acht 12 GbR.

Four-day week at the Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten in Starnberg

"We now offer a four-day week," he says.

This is intended to make the job more attractive for employees and to meet the general demand for more flexibility.

The companies know that the region also needs living space for their employees and some offer places in shared apartments or staff apartments, as Baumann emphasizes.

From 6 p.m. on the day of the fair, a job speed dating event will take place in the hotel restaurant, during which potential employers will present themselves and their vacancies in 15 minutes each.

"Most of the time you sit at the table with several people," says Sabine Ostermann, explaining the relaxed atmosphere.

Many jobs have already been filled in the past through this type of communication.

Tobias Baumann also hopes to be able to recruit new employees again through the exhibition format.

"You can see the building directly," which is an advantage for his company at the trade fair.

“Our job is to help businesses fill their vacancies,” explains Anne Boldt from gwt, pointing out the “blatant shortage” of workers in the region.

Employees from the district of Starnberg should work at their place of residence

Due to demographic change, it is no longer possible to fill every training position.

The event draws attention to this situation.

Ideally, it should be possible to recruit people who already live here for jobs in the district.
