The municipality of Brunnthal also needs more living space.

And because space is finite, sensitive areas must also be touched.

A total of ten new municipal apartments are to be built on a piece of land north of Faistenhaarer Straße and south-east of the Hofoldinger Friedhof.

Brunnthal

- With a clear majority of 17 votes to one, the municipal council agreed in its most recent meeting to build two staggered buildings - with a length of a good 14 and almost 13 meters.

The three-storey ensemble with pitched roof will offer two to four room apartments.

With an 11:7 majority, the council opted for a solid brick construction.

When it came to the underground car park, the decision was even tighter.

With 10:8 votes, the Brunnthaler council decided in the end for an underground car park including an eastern access ramp.

sensitive area

The plan to sensitively fit the new residential area into the environment is obviously not easy.

Finally, it is also important to consider the necessary expansion areas of the neighboring Heilig Kreuz cemetery.

The council unanimously agreed to ensure a minimum distance of four meters during construction in favor of a cemetery extension that might become necessary later.

"It is important to use the cemetery expansion area in the north of the planning site as little as possible," emphasized Mayor Stefan Kern (CSU).

However, the type of burial also changes.

"More and more urn graves are being designed in our areas," emphasized Kern.

Less space is required for this than in traditional graveyards with individual graves.

This could also play into the hands of a possibly expanded residential building.

Cost estimate not possible

At the southern end, the council also has clear ideas about a clear green border in the direction of the busy Faistenhaarer Straße.

However, the two project planners drew attention to the spatial confinement.

Trees and green matter will also have to be sacrificed in order to accommodate everything structurally.

The council was not able to provide a cost estimate in the early phase of the project.

However, it is already becoming apparent that it will not necessarily be easy with loans and grants from the public sector for the quite ambitious municipal project.

The council also voted unanimously against a KfW subsidy because, according to the town hall, “the necessary certification would be too expensive”.

Brunnthal does not want to take out a loan to finance the multi-million dollar project – but will use the Free State's municipal housing subsidy program once the requirements have been clarified.

Because living space is needed.

Also in Hofolding.

It should only be financially viable.
