Tartous-Sana
The elements of the fire brigade of the Forestry Department in the Tartous Agriculture Directorate, in cooperation with the Safita fire brigade, put out a fire that broke out this afternoon near the village of Ruwaisat al-Mandara on the Safita-Tartous highway.
Head of the Tartous Forestry Division, Fadi Diop, said in a statement to SANA reporter that the firefighting and forestry teams controlled the fire that broke out in agricultural lands and spread to the side of houses, noting that the damaged area amounted to about 5 dunums, including olive trees.
Diop called not to set fire to agricultural lands and not to throw cigarettes to avoid any fire, and to call the fire brigades via numbers 113 and 188 in case of any fire or smoke.
