The exhibition, which was organized by Al-Jisr Gallery in cooperation with the Directorate of Culture in Aleppo, included embroidered artworks produced by female artists from the countryside of Aleppo, who narrated real stories about the Aleppo countryside, in addition to embodying the Syrian heritage, nature and the domed houses in the countryside.
The displayed works, which numbered 30, were dominated by bright colors that give rise to optimism and joy, emphasizing the victory achieved by the city of Aleppo over terrorism.
The Director of Culture in Aleppo, Jaber Al-Sajur, explained in a statement to SANA reporter that these needle and thread embroidered works express the Aleppo countryside, its customs and traditions, indicating that the participating artists presented their suffering during the war period from the attempts of misguided thinkers to obliterate the intellectual identity of the homeland and the displacement of the population in the region.
He pointed out that the Ministry of Culture supports all kinds of handicrafts because of their importance in preserving the Syrian heritage, as the craft of embroidery is one of the elements of the intangible cultural heritage.
Among the participants in the exhibition, Ayush al-Hassan, from the countryside of Aleppo, explained that her paintings express a small part of the suffering she experienced in the shadow of the war for years, indicating that in some paintings she embodied the unique and diverse Syrian heritage, in addition to embodying the battles that took place between the heroes of the Syrian Arab Army and armed terrorist groups, and the response The army is for all forms of terrorism.
Heika Bieber, the exhibition's coordinator, pointed out its goal in developing women's talents in the field of embroidery and handicrafts, and developing the capabilities of preserving heritage because it is a treasure that we can benefit from and build our lives on, noting the need to introduce this rich heritage through the establishment of activities and art exhibitions.
The Secretary of the Union of Fine Artists in the Aleppo branch, Ibrahim Daoud, pointed out the amount of creativity in the paintings, which take on a folkloric character derived from the surrounding environment.
