“I remember a hubbub, a promiscuity, a permanent tension.

Everyone was on edge,” recalls Rima Hassan, 30, at the helm of the Refugee Camps Observatory (OCR).

By creating this NGO in 2019, she made it her mission to study, investigate and raise awareness about these "non-places", as she calls them.

The young woman was born in one of them.

She was born in 1992 in Neirab, a suburb of Aleppo, Syria, and spent her childhood there.

Three of his grandparents are Palestinians, arriving there in 1948 after being driven out of their country by the first Arab-Israeli war.
